MercyCare Human Research Ethics

As from December  1st 2011, all Human Research Applications submitted to MercyCare will be reviewed through a new joint MercyCare/St John of God Health Care initiative.

In this arrangement the St. John of God Health Care Ethics Committee (SJGHCEC) will review all MercyCare Human Research applications however, a member of Mercycare is now represented on their Committee.

All researchers should contact the MercyCare Ethics Assistant in the first instance (see contact details below) and all new Research Applications should be presented using the National Ethics Application Form (NEAF 2).

In the case of Low Risk and/or research requiring Access to Medical Records only,  the MercyCare Human Research Application Form may be used.

Researchers please note:

  • NEAF applicants must complete the Checklist and Declaration forms and attach them to   the Proposal as a cover sheet.
  • All Clinical Trials must be accompanied by a copy of the relevant Insurance Certificate.
