What does Pastoral Care seek to do?

Pastoral Care seeks to empower people in the spirit of our founder, Catherine McAuley by promoting:

  • Mercy
  • Human dignity
  • Emotional support
  • Spiritual support
  • Sacramental ministry
  • Grief and bereavement support

Pastoral Care also offers Mercy Friends volunteer friendship visiting programmme. With the change in family dynamics, many clients are experiencing increased isolation and this programme aims to link volunteers and clients with mutual interests to develop a friendship.
