Low Care (Non Secure)

Anne Xavier Wing is a government funded low level care facility for 44 residents requiring some assistance with daily living functions. The facility is surrounded by beautiful gardens and spacious living areas. The accommodation has single rooms with ensuites.

Personal care staff have been well trained in the provision of care. Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy is available for maintenance of independence and social activities. There is regular consultation with Registered Nurses, as required. The podiatrist, hairdresser and beautician visit weekly.

The Hostel environment is happy and vibrant with residents having involvement in all aspects of their community life.

Therapies

A specialised therapy team is actively involved in providing intensive therapeutic care. The Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist and their assistants are energetic and innovative in their programming. This is demonstrated by the wide variety of treatments used, including a spa and the activities, functions and outings that are available.

All residents in Low Care have an individual assessment by both the Physio and the OT. Whether the care is for rehabilitation or maintenance of independence, the therapies are an integral part of the daily life in residential care.

Application for Accommodation

An Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT) assessment is required for entry to High Care - this can be arranged through your local doctor.

An application form will need to be completed and submitted with the ACAT assessment.

Fees

Fees are set based on income, in accordance with the guidelines set by the Commonwealth Government. An Accommodation Bond may be required, based on a financial assessment of assets. This asset assessment is completed by Centrelink or the Department of Veteran Affairs.
