Health, Aged Care and Community Services

 

 

 

Cert III - Health Service Assistance (Client/Patient Service) HLT32507

Length: 6 week training course

Prerequisites: The only prerequisite for this course is a current police clearance (less than 3 months old). However, it will be assumed that you have basic English language skills.Please note that no participant will be required to use literacy or numeracy skills at a level higher than that required in the workplace.

Where will this lead: You will be able to take on various roles in the health industry, such as wardsperson, orderly, medical orderly, patient services assistant or personal care worker.

This course includes work experience in a hospital environment as well as classroom training. You will be given the chance to perform tasks such as food distribution, cleaning, portering, inventory maintenance, handling linen, waste and medical gas cylinders. You may also be involved in the personal care of patients.

Cert III - Aged Care Work CHC30102

Length: 6 week training course.

Prerequisites: The only prerequisite for this course is a current police clearance (less than 3 months old). However, it will be assumed that you have basic English language skills. Please note that no participant will be required to use literacy or numeracy skills at a level higher than that required in the workplace.

Where will this lead: You will be qualified to gain work in both residential nursing facilities.

This course includes work experience in our very own residential aged care facility as well as classroom training. You will be given the chance to learn about every aspect of personal care.This course has been designed to meet industry entry requirements for residential aged care work.

Cert IV - Community Services (Service Coordination) CHC42002

Length: Self paced flexible delivery

Prequisites: Completion of Cert III Aged Care Work/ Cert III Home and Community Care and working towards a supervisory role. To complete the qualification, candidates will need to be working towards competency in a supervisory/coordinator's role.

Where will this lead: This course allows you to develop your managerial and coordintor/team leader skills in an aged care residential environment.

This course has been ideally designed for Skills Recognition where current workplace conditions and/or environment can be applied to verify claims for competency. It includes on the job training and completion of assessments that are work related.

Cert IV - Community Services Work CHC40902

Length: Self paced flexible delivery

Prequisites: Completion of Cert III Aged Care Work/ Cert III Home and Community Care and working towards a supervisory role. To complete the qualification, candidates would need to be working towards competency in a supervisory/coordinators role.

Where will this lead: This course allows you to develop your supervisory/team leader skills in a home and commuity care environment.

This course has been ideally designed for Skills Recognition where current workplace conditions and/or environment can be applied to verify claims for competency. It includes on the job training and completion of assessments that are work related.

Cert IV - Training and Assessment TAA40104

Length: Courses are scheduled each year and run over 10 weeks -

This certificate is ideal for people where training and assessing staff is a major part of the job.

Applicants who have not completed Year 10 may be required to undertake an assessment of current written, verbal and numeracy skills as part of the selection process.

Units may be customised and used by companies in ways that will best meet their needs.

Cert IV - Business (Frontline Management) BSB41004 

Length: Courses are scheduled each year and run over a number of weeks - please contact us for an exact date.

Prerequisites: Experience in a supervisory role. Applicants who have not completed Year 10 may be required to undertake an assessment of current written, verbal and numeracy skills as part of the selection process.

This course is designed to give team leaders, supervisors and frontline managers a chance at self development. Before we can supervise or manage others we must be able to supervise/manage ourselves!

It will provide the opportunity to develop skills by introducing the practical skills of organising, planning work priorities, managing workplace relationships, developing teams and promoting quality customer service. Training is delivered through a number of training sessions and work based assessments and assignments.

Diploma of Business (Frontline Management) BSB51004

Length: Courses are scheduled each year and run over a number of weeks - please contact us for an exact date.

This course is ideal for people who may have current experience or are planning to be in a management role.

Participants will develop skills in regular management and supervisory tasks.
