Parent Access Support
This is a service for couples with children, who are separating.
When a couple separates there may be a period where one of the partners agrees to have supervised contact with the children. This is usually for an interim period whilst issues are sorted out in the Family Court.
The Parent Access Support Service provides a safe place for children to interact positively with a parent. The contact occurs in our Wembley Child Day Care Buildings. An experienced supervisor monitors the contact and encourages positive play experiences at an age-appropriate level.
Mercy Child Day Care has provided this service for some years, assisting many families and working with several family lawyers.
Conditions include:
- Only available on Weekends
- Cost is $35 per hour - parents to arrange who is to pay in advance
- Parents must attend individual interviews at the centre before the first contact visit
- Supervisors can stop the contact if it is considered to be unsafe for the child
