mercy addiction support team
Mercy Addiction Support Team (MAST) is a drug and addictions specialist support service of MercyCare's Family and Community Services division.
MAST is based at the MercyCare Head Office campus in Doubleview, however all services operate on an outreach basis (working with staff and clients at locations suitable to them across the Perth metropolitan area).
It is not a frontline service but a behind-the-scenes support team with a 'service enhancement' brief covering all the main service areas of the Division - Mercy Employment & Training, Family Services, Youth Services and Child Day Care.
Staff provide the following core services:
- Counselling/Consulting service
- Training service (including staff training, client education and community education)
Counselling, consulting and training focus on the client or client's close family or friends, who are experiencing difficulties with drug use (both licit and illicit), drug addictions, and the broad spectrum of non-drug addictions (such as addictive patterns involving gambling and food/eating).
