Carlow House - 24 Hour Support
Carlow House is situated in Wembley and provides long term accommodation (9 months) for homeless young people aged 16 - 18 years. The aim is to prepare young, homeless people to live independently by working on their issues in a safe, supportive environment.
A Youth Worker is available in Carlow House 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to support and assist the young people to develop their independent living skills so they no longer require 24 hour supported accommodation.
In conjunction with the Youth Workers, residents identify their areas of need, goals are then set and an Action and Support Plan is formulated. This plan is regularly reviewed and changed as new skills are gained. The plan might include targets to improve independent living skills such as managing money, cooking, cleaning and looking for work. There is a small rental charge for the accommodation.
The admission process may take up to 2 weeks.
