During your stayMercy Hospital Mount Lawley offers beautifully appointed private rooms, all with ensuite facilities, television and telephone, many with sweeping views of the Swan River.

Our staff have been selected, not only for their expertise, but also for their caring approach to patients.

Our team of Medical Practitioners are committed to providing personalised care that ensures the privacy, dignity, independence and individuality of patients and families is upheld at all times.

Alcohol

During your stayWhilst you are a patient in our hospital, alcohol should only be consumed with your Doctor’s approval.

Bibles

A Bible is located in your bedside locker. Bibles have been supplied by Gideon International.

Boarders

Here at Mercy Hospital we welcome boarders into some private rooms, but unfortunately cannot accomodate boarders in shared rooms. For information on who can board with a patient click here to download our Information for Boarders Brochures.

Chapel

The Mercy Chapel is located on the lower ground floor of the main hospital building. People are invited to use this beautiful and tranquil place for reflection, prayer or a few quiet moments.
Coffee and Tea-making Facilities

Visitors and patients are welcome to use the facilities in the Family Birthing Unit Community Room (located on the Second Floor) or the Third Floor lounge area. Refreshments may be purchased from the Mercy Cafe located on the ground floor of the Hospital.

Dining Room

The Mercy Cafe facilities, located on the ground floor of the hospital, are available for patients, visitors and staff.

Weekdays 8.30am – 7.00pm

Saturday & Sunday 10.00am – 2.00pm

Food and confectionery items are available from the Mercy Cafe Vending Services between 7.00am and 7.00pm seven days per week.

Discharge against Medical Advice

Whilst you are within your rights to discharge yourself against medical advice you will be required to sign documentation that absolves the hospital of any responsibility.

Electrical Appliances

Please do not bring any electrical appliances into the hospital. Should you bring an electrical appliance it must be checked by the Hospital Engineer prior to use. Battery operated equipment is acceptable. The use of personal computers is permitted, however the Hospital telephone lines must not not be used at anytime for internet access.

Hairdressing & Beauty Services

The Ward Clerk can arrange an appointment with a visiting hairdresser or Beautician if required or you may prefer to have your own hairdresser attend you.

Interpreter Service

Interpreter services are available during your stay. Please contact the Admissions Department if you require assistance.

Laundry

Patients are requested to make their own arrangements for the laundering of their personal items.

Meals

Our Catering and Nutritional Services Department offers seasonal menus with a wide selection of delicious meal choices (including vegetarian) prepared on-site for your enjoyment. All dishes prepared at Mercy Hospital Mount Lawley are carefully prepared without the addition of peanuts / peanut products.

Lunch Midday – 12.45 pm 2.30pm – 3.15pm

Dinner 6.00pm – 6.45pm 7.15pm – 8.15pm

Mobile Telephones

Mobile telephones may interfere with patient monitoring equipment in highly instrumented areas, e.g. Operating Suite, Recovery Room, Labour Ward and are not permitted to be used in these areas.

Patient Condition Enquiries

Out of respect for your privacy, Hospital Policy is to inform relatives and friends of only basic general information about your condition. Calls will be transferred to your room unless otherwise requested by you. If at any time you do not wish to be disturbed by telephone calls, please contact the Telephonist by dialing 89.

Quality Management

Mercy Hospital Mount Lawley is fully accredited by the Australian Council of Healthcare Standards (ACHS). This accreditation is an official acknowledgement of our commitment to continuous quality improvement in the safe and timely care provided to you by our staff.

Room Allocations

While every attempt is made to ensure you remain in the room allocated to you on admission, there may be times,where we may need to transfer you to another room.

Smoking

Smoking is only permitted on the fourth floor balcony area.

Special Needs

We are receptive to the special needs of all patients. Please advise your requirements to Admissions Department upon arrival, or contact the Duty Clinical Nurse Manager on your Ward.

Telephone

All rooms have a personal telephone with direct dial facilities for local calls. There is no charge for local calls, please dial 0 for an external line. Phone cards are required for long distance and international calls. Public telephones are also available in the main foyer.

Valuables

We strongly recommend that you leave all valuables at home as Management cannot accept responsibility for the security of personal items.
