Staff Development Nurse

Role: We currently have an opportunity for an individual passionate about the professional development of others to join our team as a Staff Development Nurse on a part-time (32 hours per week) basis. Working with staff in our medical and surgical wards, you would assess, plan, implement and evaluate staff development within these wards.

Responsibilities:  

You will be expected to:

  • Provide support and develop clinical and non clinical staff including undergraduate students
  • Work towards the achievement of MHMLOrganisational key performance indicators (KPI's)
  • Work within a small team delivering key education activities
  • Be committed to your own and others personal and professional development

As a Staff Development Nurse you will have:

  • the ability to uphold and promote the Mission and Values of the MHML Organisation;
  • registration as a Registered Nurse Division One (1) with the Nurses and Midwives Board of Western Australia;
  • knowledge and experience gained throughout your nursing career, including advanced acute clinical nursing skills particularly orthopaedics, ENT, gynaecology, colorectal, urology, general surgery, high dependency and medical nursing;
  • highly developed written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in group facilitation, clinical teaching, conflict resolution and negotiation, preparation of reports and development of policies and procedures;
  • developed research skills and an ability to interpret results relating to evidence based practice to initiate safe and best nursing care;
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment skill set;
  • experience and knowledge in using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
