Elective Admissions
This is usually arranged by patient referral to one of the Hospital’s Accredited Specialists.
There are more than 350 Medical Specialists accredited to Mercy Hospital Mount Lawley.

Direct Admissions
The Hospital offers a 24 hour on-call service for direct admissions for General Medicine and Emergency Urology patients.
Any referring GP or Specialist wishing to admit a patient should call the Duty Nurse manager on (08) 9370 9222 to discuss a possible admission and check bed availability.
GP Admissions
Formal accreditation to the Hospital is a requirement for GPs wishing to admit patients under their care to the Hospital.
GPs will need to be available to provide 24-hour cover for their admitted patients.
Requests for Hospital admissions will need to be co-ordinated through the Duty Nurse Manager on (08) 9370 9222 and are dependent upon bed availability.
GPs should be aware that Mercy Hospital Mount Lawley is not able to accept Care Awaiting Placement patients and that the facility is not equipped for the special care needs of patients with dementia or acute confusion.
Admissions to the Mercy Restorative Unit
This 24-bed unit specialises in providing assessment and short-term rehabilitation in the ward and Day Hospital areas by a multidisciplinary health-care team.
The Unit provides care for public patients with the medical management provided by the Royal Perth Hospital Department of Geriatric Medicine.

Admissions to the Ursula Frayne Unit
The Ursula Frayne Unit provides public in-patient services for older people with mental health problems.
The 12-bed Unit has been established to service the inner Perth metropolitan area, and is managed by the Inner City Older Adult Mental Health Service.
