Restorative Care and Older Adult Mental Health Aged Care

Mercy's Inner City Aged Care is comprised of Mercy Restorative Unit and the Ursula Frayne Unit.

Mercy Restorative Unit

Mercy Restorative UnitLocated in the hospital campus, the Mercy Restorative Unit consists of a 24 bed in-patient unit and an outpatient Day Therapy Unit.

The impatient unit specialises in the provision of assessment and rehabilitation of older persons by a multodisciplinary health care team. The aim is for each person to regain their maximum functional level in order to return to living in the community.

Patients are admitted after assessment by a member of the Inner City Geriatric Service, which is attached to Royal Perth Hospital.

The Day Therapy Unit offers a range of out-patient services provided by doctors, nurses and allied health professionals. It also provides clinics for falls, continence and memory. These services are available through either the Royal Perth Hospital Consultant Geriatricians or a general Practitioner referral to the Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT) who work at the Mercy Restorative Unit site.
