Pre-admission Clinic
The Pre-admission Clinic at Mercy Hospital Mount Lawley provides a multidisciplinary assessment and screening service for patients prior to their admission to Hospital.
The clinic is co-ordinated by nursing staff, and a range of health professionals.
It is a free one-on-one service for joint replacement patients and Bariatric patients having surgery at Mercy Hospital Mount Lawley. We will however endeavour to call all patients undergoing general surgery and including day surgery.
Designed to ensure a more relaxed, informed admission process, our experienced nursing staff will assist with:
- Completion of admission forms
- A comprehensive nursing assessment
- Discharge and aftercare arrangements and
- Education relating to your procedure.
The Pre-admission Clinic can co-ordinate many aspects of your hospital stay including documentation, pain management, home-care services and physiotherapy / occupational therapy if required.
Interviews take approximately one hour and can be conducted face-to-face or on the telephone. We encourage you to bring a friend or relative. If you require other tests, you may be required to remain at the hospital for 2-3 hours. Please note that these tests may incur a cost.
