Volunteering in Residential Aged Care offers you the chance to share quality time with our residents. With a whole host of activities happening daily you'll never be short of something to do or someone to chat with.
Mercy Volunteers help in Residential Aged Care by assisting with:
- Support for new residents and their families
- Daily activities in our home
- Excursions to nearby places and sights
- Exercise and mobility activities
- Arts & Craft Sessions
- Games, including both physical and mental activities
- Walks around the Wembley site and local attractions
- Shopping trips for necessities or pleasure
- Attending local performances, such as our choir concert
- Visiting and offering residents companionship
- Reading with and to residents
Requirements
- Genuine interest and an empathy with our residents
- Good communication skills
