Mary Woodford is the General Manager Advocacy at the Law Society of Western Australia, having previously held the role of Senior Legal Counsel at the University of Western Australia and Consultant, Corporate & Commercial with Jackson McDonald Lawyers. Mary began her career as a registered nurse and has held a number of senior positions in the public and private sector. Her focus is currently on providing corporate and commercial legal advice to clients in the private sector, including statutory authorities, health and education institutions and not-for-profit organisations. Mary holds a Bachelor of Laws, Masters of Public Health, Bachelor of Arts (Hons) and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Mary also has experience as a company secretary and chair for not for profit organisations. She is currently a non-executive director of HBF Health Limited, a member of the HBF Group Audit and Risk Management Committee and a former director of HBF Insurance Pty Ltd, HBF Financial Services Pty Ltd, John XXIII College Inc and the Heart Foundation (WA) Inc.
Deputy Chairperson of the Board
Darren Cutri was the Chief Finance Officer and Acting University Secretary for the University of Notre Dame Australia. He was appointed to this position in July 2009. Darren has 14 years' experience in the not-for-profit sector, in particular health care. 12 of those years were with the St John of God Health Care Inc Group. Darren holds a Bachelor of Business from Edith Cowan University and is a Certified Practicing Accountant. Darren is also a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Dennis Banks is a Councillor of the RACWA and was President during 2000 and 2001. He is a Director of RACWA Holdings Pty Ltd, and RAC Finance Ltd and the Chairman of the Investment Committee and IT Committee, and a member of the Nomination Committee. He has served as Chairman of Club Board and Chairman of the RAC Travel Services Pty Ltd, and is an alternate Director of RAC Insurance Pty Ltd. Much of his experience is in the superannuation and financial services industry. His focus during 1987 to 1997 was the creation and development of ASGARD, the first Superannuation Master Fund. Following ASGARD, he was a founding Director and Shareholder of Benchmark Debtor Finance Pty Ltd, which was on sold in 2005. He has also been a director on serval other boards in the finance and e-commerce sector, including iiNet Limited, Electrolley Pty Ltd and Auto Credit Finance Pty Ltd. He was also the Chair of the Board of Aquinas College and a Director of the Aquinas Foundation.
Ricky Burges PSM
Ricky currently holds the position of Chief Executive Officer, Western Australian Local Government Association – a position she has held for sixteen years. Prior to joining WALGA, Ricky was the Director General of the Department for Culture and the Arts, Chief Executive Officer of Perth Zoo and Director of Human Resources at the WA Tourism Commission. She has a Masters in Leadership and Management from Curtin University, a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Development, a Certificate in Psychotherapy and a Diploma in Coaching. Ricky has a strong understanding of governance and its requirements. She has a long history of serving on committees and boards and is highly regarded by colleagues and peers across many agencies in Western Australia. She sits on the ROADS Foundation, the Local Government Insurance Board, and various Local Government committees and boards. She is a past President of the Australian Institute of Management and the Board of the Art Gallery of Western Australia. She was awarded a Public Service Medal in 2007.
Maureen Colgan OAM
Maureen Colgan has worked on a variety of Boards and Committees including the Inaugural Aquinas College Board, UNDA Board of Governors, UNDA Ethics Committee, and the Cathedral Restoration and Completion Appeal. Maureen is currently a member of the South West Metropolitan Partnership Forum and Chair of the St Patrick’s Basilica Restoration Committee.
Michael is currently fulfilling the roles of Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary for two publicly listed companies, as well as being a director of several other private companies. He was previously the Chief Financial Officer of two ASX 300 companies over the past fifteen years as well as being a successful business owner. Michael has always been active in the not-for-profit sector and is currently the chairman of the Western Australian charity, Make A Difference. Michael is a Chartered Accountant, graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a certificated member of Chartered Secretaries of Australia.
Glennda Scully possesses over 30 years' experience across a range of sectors including industry, public practice and academe. Having held several management roles in policy design, financial management, risk management, corporate governance and strategic planning, Glennda held the position of Head of School of Accounting at Curtin University for 8 years. Sitting on Curtin’s University Council and Academic Board, Glennda is also a member of the Catholic Education Commission of WA, Catholic Education Finance Standing Committee and a member of the Archdiocese Finance Council. Glennda is the current Chair of the WA regional council and Fellow of the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.
Jan Stewart PSM
Jan is a social worker by profession and graduated from the University of Western Australia with a Bachelor of Arts and Master's Degree in Social Work. She was awarded an honorary degree of Doctor Letters by the University of Western Australia in 2016. She is currently acting Chief Executive of West Australian Ballet. From 1992 to 2014 Jan held the position of CEO of Lotterywest and prior to that worked as the Chief Social Worker at Princess Margaret Hospital for Children - Perth’s major paediatric teaching hospital. She was awarded a Public Service Medal in the Australia Day Honours of 2009 for her contribution to Lotterywest and the Western Australian community. Jan is a member of a number of other not-for-profit boards and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
