Protecting our Residents
MercyCare operates strictly within the rules of the Aged Care Act, 1997. This legislation was designed by the Commonwealth Government to protect the health, safety, wellbeing and interests of residents. The act sets fees and charges and protects residents’ funds, and we act to make sure that these guidelines are strictly followed at all times.
Meals
Seasonal and nutritious meals prepared on-site daily in our kitchens by our trained cooks. Passionate about seasonal menus, we believe in nutritious and wholesome food that make for enjoyable mealtimes.
Staying COVID-19 Safe
Our homes continue to closely follow all Government health advice. Our staff will continue to:
- Undertake increased hygiene and cleaning measures, including vigilant handwashing, hand sanitising and wearing of PPE where appropriate
- Follow up-to-date Government advice on the wearing of masks
- Be up-to-date with their COVID-19 vaccinations and boosters as per Department of Health mandates.
To keep our residents and community safe, we ask that all visitors:
- Wear a mask
- Provide proof of current influenza and COVID-19 vaccination
- Complete a mandatory screening on entry, including a temperature check
- Reschedule their visit if there has been a chance of contact with a COVID-19 positive person.
