Social and Carer Respite Services

Getting social

Connecting with someone, whether it is at one of our social or respite centres or having a chat at home, is great for positive mental health and well-being. Our respite services give carers an opportunity to give that important time back to themselves.

Trained staff and volunteers run a wide range of activities, events and outings for eligible community members. A number of different interest groups and clubs operate from the centre.

The service, for seniors and people living with a disability, is available to community members who have been assessed and meet the required criteria.

Transport for medical appointments and for a shopper’s bus can also be arranged for clients who live within six kilometres of the centre.

I have been coming to Harman Park for just over 12 months and look forward to every visit there. The staff are so friendly and make everyone so comfortable. I have never felt so comfortable anywhere before. I am sure everyone here feels the same.”

Carer respite

Carer health and wellbeing is vital. At MercyCare, we offer flexible respite options for family carers looking after a loved one. Respite can be provided in your home or at one of our specialised respite centres.

In-home support

Everyone needs a break every now and again. Call us to find out more about how we can take excellent care of your loved one while you recharge your batteries.

Our in-home support service offers the option of having a qualified support worker provide support to individuals living with dementia within the comfort of their own home. We can help encourage independence and safety around the home and support the individual living with dementia to continue doing the activities they enjoy within their own home environment.
