To show our appreciation and thanks for their help and support during the year, MercyCare hosted the Annual Volunteers get together, which was held at the Community Centre at Mercy Village.
The lunch offered the opportunity to reflect on the volunteering efforts throughout the past year, and show our gratitude to the wonderful work undertaken by each one.
About 70 volunteers gathered for a day of fun, laughter and music. The entertainment was supplied by one of MercyCares volunteers Cedric Collars, a retired aircraft avionics engineer, who dedicates his time to both Davis and McAuley House, but who also is a very talented singer and Yamaha keyboard player. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed his singing and playing which set the tone for this worthwhile celebration.
We are always in need of great volunteers who are passionate, dedicated, and get along well with our staff and clients. Every year MercyCare is faced with new community challenges where more individuals and families find that they are in need of our services. It’s only with the added assistance of our volunteers that we can rise to meet the challenge. A huge thank you to all our volunteers. Happy International Volunteer Day 2016
