CELEBRATING 16 YEARS OF DEVELOPING WOMEN IN LEADERSHIP FOR SERVICE
In 2014 MercyCare celebrates the 16th anniversary of the Catherine McAuley Award program. The Catherine McAuley Award was originally established in 1998 as an initiative of the Sisters of Mercy. It was named after the Sisters of Mercy foundress, Catherine McAuley, and the Award’s purpose is to continue Catherine’s vision of leadership and service in the spirit of compassion and mercy. In particular the Award provides opportunities for women to emerge as significant community leaders.
Unlike other leadership programs, the Award, which is inspired by a Christian ethos, provides women with a unique experience of being in community with other women to explore and develop their understanding of and potential for leadership through the spirit of service. The Catherine McAuley Award is proud to have over 390 graduates, many of whom hold highly regarded leadership positions within their communities.
The Catherine McAuley Award, which is now a program of MercyCare, is sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy, St John of God Health Care, Mercedes College and Santa Maria College.
MercyCare is delighted to announce that nominations have now opened for the Catherine McAuley Award for 2014. Nominations are sought from women between the ages of 28 - 40 who demonstrate an enquiring mind, a range of life experiences, energy and vitality, a spiritual life in harmony with the Christian tradition and a potential for community, national or international leadership.
We invite you to forward the application pack to women you think might be suitable for and are interested in participating in the program. Please mail or email applications through to the Catherine McAuley Award office as soon as possible. Applications close Monday 9 September 2013.
