Community Education Programs

Found in: News & Events

People seeking asylum in Australia face enormous hurdles in almost every area of life and experience extreme uncertainty and social isolation. It is MercyCare’s mission to break this cycle for the most disadvantaged in our community.

We are currently running education programs from our office on Ord Street which focus on influencing positive community attitudes and encouraging mutually beneficial encounters between people who have sought asylum in Australia and the community.

Community Awareness and Information Sessions

Wednesday 22nd July, 9.30am - 11.30am

Wednesday 23rd September, 2.00pm - 4.00pm
MercyCare’s community awareness and information sessions are designed and customised to meet the diverse needs and backgrounds of participating groups. All sessions include a Guest Speaker’s personal story of seeking asylum in Australia and an information segment exploring current myths about people seeking asylum in Australia.
