Since its launch in September last year, our First Time Ever Fund has been making a lasting positive impact to the lives of children in our care.
This July school holidays, 12 children attended an introductory Aboriginal culture camp at Woodman Point. The purpose of this camp was to provide Aboriginal children in our care the opportunity to learn about their culture and connect and celebrate it through experience.
They were involved in all kinds of fun activities including Aboriginal bush traditions, Aboriginal Art class, Australian bush tucker, campfire songs and dream time stories.
This was an interactive and engaging experience presented by Aboriginal guides sharing culture and country.
The camp was a great opportunity for children in our care to develop a range of social skills, team work abilities, outdoor skills and appreciation for nature. This is all possible thanks to everyone who has so generously contributed to our First Time Ever Fund.
