Have fun, play smart

MercyCare’s new service, Have Fun, Play Smart works with individuals, their families and communities who are affected by social gambling. This service is unique in that it has been developed specifically with people of culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and Indigenous people in mind.

Manager Placed Based Services Anjali Mukund said we are aiming to overcome cultural and language barriers in order to equip people with knowledge and strategies that will help them to set healthy boundaries as well as to assist in avoiding social gambling situations and reducing problem gambling behavior.

This service will work with clients using art therapy, music and dance and one-on-one support as well as  community education, social inclusion and group diversionary activities in Mirrabooka and surrounding  suburbs.

If you or someone you know is affected by issues around gambling or for further information about Have Fun, Play Smart please contact Brenda on 9344 2468.

Have Fun, Play Smart is possible thanks to the Department of Local Government and Communities and the
Department of Racing, Gaming and Liquor’s Beyond Gambling Grants program.
