Help us put a little magic into Christmas for children in care

Found in: News & Events

For many of us, Christmas is a time for rejoicing and celebrating with family and friends. But for the countless children in Perth who are unable to live with their families, Christmas can be a lonely and upsetting time.

It’s heartbreaking to know that this Christmas will be the first time some of our children in care have ever received Christmas presents. It will be their first Christmas dinner. And for some, the first Christmas they can feel safe from abuse and neglect.

Like all not-for-profit organisations, MercyCare receives generous funding from the government to provide services to children in our care, however, those funds do not cover ‘incidentals’ such as Christmas presents. It is with this in mind that I write to you asking you to become one of Santa’s Helpers this year.

Your donation will enable us to leave presents under the Christmas tree for each and every child in our care and will help us to create a little Christmas magic for children that have seen so little of it. 100% of donations go directly to the children.

You can donate online at www.mercycare.com.au or fill in the form below.

Here’s wishing you, your family and friends, a safe and blessed Christmas.

Yours sincerely,

Chris Hall
