International Nurses and Midwives Week

International Midwives Day and International Nurses Day is a chance for us to take a moment and reflect on the work our Nurses and Midwives do. Not only do they care for our bodies, but they care for our spirit too. We'd be lost without them.

During this week, MercyCare is taking time to pay special thanks to our Nurses and Midwives for their continued effort and support.

Mercy Hospital Mount Lawley will showcase a photographic display during the week depicting “Nursing throughout the ages…”

Thu 5th May: “Florence, Catherine and You” Presentation by Anne Fox, Mercy Conference Centre 2:00pm

Monday 9th May: Welcoming Ceremony and Afternoon Tea for new Director of Nursing MHML Susan Cantwell, Mercy Conference Centre, 3:15pm

Thu 12th May: Florence Nightingales’ Birthday, Cupcakes for Nurses and Midwives, delivered throughout the day.

The theme for 2011 is ‘the world needs midwives now more than ever.’

International Nurses Day 12 May 2011
The theme for 2011 is ‘Closing the gap: increasing access and equity’.
