Medical help for Vietnam

A Mt Lawley hospital recently helped out several medical services in Vietnam.

MercyCare supply Manager Terry Anderson organised a donation on behalf of MercyCare to the University of Notre Dame's 2011 nursing trip to the country.

The supplies were shared between Bak Mai Hospital, Mai Chau District Hospital and health clinics in Han Kia and Van.

Mr Anderson said the hospital liked to help where it could because there were other medical facilities around the world that did not have access to basic supplies and equipment which could make a big difference to healthcare.

"Members of the Mercy Hospital team also undertake volunteer work in poverty stricken countries and we can usually help them by supplying them with essential medical items to take," he said.

Mr Anderson said most of the donated equipment was sourced from suppliers such as Ansell Medical.

Don Main, who was one of the ten nursing students to go on the trip, said they were grateful for MercyCare's donation.
