Unique little people

We understand that each child is an individual, with their own unique way of doing things, which is why we work closely with each family to better understand their specific needs.

Our centre has an open-door policy, and we will support our families in every way that we can.

Space to learn and grow

Our modern centre hosts inspired environments, with natural open outdoor spaces with plenty of room to challenge and extend your child’s development.

Our passionate and professional team of educators go above-and-beyond to provide a stimulating educational curriculum designed to meet the diverse needs and interests of the children in our care.

Encouraging curiosity

Children delight in the many opportunities to learn and discover at our centre.

We have pet stick insects, a frog enclosure and a snail sanctuary that the children love to keep an eye on, as well as our pet fish which is a beloved part of the centre.

Children are encouraged to explore and be involved in our library room and vegetable garden. We have a strong focus on sustainability, from what we do as a centre and as individuals.

Part of the community

Our own bus allows us to run weekly community excursions where children are able to get out-and-about and learn about the wider world.

We also provide a School Readiness Program for older children to help prepare children for the next step in their learning journey.

Getting involved

In our kindy room we have an adventurous teddy bear who spends a week with a different family to learn how each family spends their weekends.

Children love the responsibility of taking care of the teddy and sharing their experiences.

Special connections

Through our partnership with MercyCare’s Joondalup Residential Aged Care facility children take part in intergenerational experiences.

Creating this opportunity means children are exposed to the traditions and wisdoms of previous generations while developing respect and empathy for older members of the community.

Staying connected

Parents at our centre love the peace of mind that comes with the app we use to communicate with them throughout the day. Xplor provides real time updates with photos about what your child is enjoying and discovering with their friends and educators.

Flexibility

We offer flexible care arrangements, including casual bookings, half days and the option for a 10-hour session which means you can make the most out of your childcare subsidy across the week.

We offer vacation care and before and after school care is offered with drop off and pick up at Quinns Beach Primary School, Alkimos Baptist College and Merriwa Primary School.

Our centre is conveniently situated just off Marmion Avenue, in a residential area.

Meet our manager

Catherine

I love children and enjoy watching them grow and learn every day.

Helping them to become confident little people and learners is one of the main reasons I chose this career.

Working in the early years sector allows me to get to know our future generations and help them learn and achieve their goals.

As Centre Manager and an educator, I am passionate about creating a holistic environment for children and giving them the tools and opportunities to reach their potential while having fun.

I achieved my diploma in early childhood education and care in Ireland and have worked in the sector for about 12 years in Ireland and Australia.

When I first started at MercyCare Merriwa Early Learning Centre I was openly welcomed. It instantly felt like home; the children, families and staff were so welcoming.

It’s a close-knit centre that has amazing relationships with the families that attend.

I love the way we open our doors to the local community through activities like our brand new Bubs Playgroup.
