Finding and Keeping a Home (Housing Support Service)

Housing Support Service
Funded under the National Partnership Agreement on Homelessness (NPAH) this program supports homeless people exiting NAHA services to live successfully in the community.
The Housing Support Worker can visit clients for a couple of hours a week and support the client and their family to find and keep a home. Some of the things we can do is assist with rental resumes, referrals to services to obtain furniture, bond assistance applications and advocate to the Department of Housing.
The Housing Support Worker can also assist clients in maintaining their home by completing tenancy training, informing clients of their rights and responsibilities of the tenant and the landlord, keeping household costs down, and maintaining a positive relationship with the landlord and property maintenance. Housing Support Service is a free service for families or individuals aged 18-65 years old.
Referral to this service can only be made through the following agencies:
- Ebenezer House
- Stirling Women’s Refuge
- Centrecare- Family Accommodation Service
- Jewish Care
- Balga Salvation Army
