New Migrant and Refugee Support

Our migrant and refugee support services help new arrivals take control of their future, through skills development, training and more

Our refugee support services have been designed to support new arrivals to Australia, as they resolve settlement issues, develop skills and build confidence.

New migrant and refugee support services for new arrivals to Australia can be found from our Step by Step Settlement Service, which provides assistance to those who have been in Australia for fewer than 5 years. Our new migrant and refugee support support service provides case workers, access to workshops and classes, supported playgroups and other activities designed to help new arrivals to Western Australia learn new skills, develop confidence and strengthen social networks.

Our Unaccompanied Humanitarian Minors program is available for young persons up to 18 years old that have arrived in Australia without a parent or legal guardian. Our carers provide children and young people with the assistance they need to develop confidence and skills in Australia. All minors are directly referred to MercyCare by the Department of Home Affairs.

Refugee women face significant barriers in employment, education and wellbeing. That’s why MercyCare has partnered with Good Things Foundation to be part of the co-design and delivery phase of the National Digital Literacy Project.
