Staying COVID-19 Safe

We continue to closely follow Government health advice and all services, including domestic assistance and social support, will continue unless the Government mandates otherwise.

Our support workers will continue to:

  • Follow up-to-date Government advice on the wearing of masks in your home while they go about their work
  • Follow their training around correct handwashing, hand sanitising and wearing of gloves where appropriate
  • Be up-to-date with their COVID-19 vaccinations. All our support workers are double-vaccinated and will receive a booster as per Department of Health mandates.
  • Keep in touch with you if your service needs to be adjusted for any reason.

If you have any concerns about the way your services will be delivered, please do not hesitate to contact our team 1800 637 299.

MercyCare gave me a dimension of freedom, releasing time to live a normal life. Before, household tasks were impossible or would take me such a long time. With their help, suddenly I had the time released to be creative and that is when I picked up my writing again. Having the MercyCare support workers enter my life has made a wonderful difference.

When David is there (MercyCare Davis House), he’s happy and he comes home animated. I don’t have to worry about him, I know the people there will look after him. It’s a huge help for me because it takes the extra stress away. It gives me time to take care of my house, to cook and care for my family. I’m very happy with MercyCare, they’re the best in town. And I love their motto – Every Person Matters – because everyone (in their care) is somebody’s loved one.

Since things have been put in place Mum has been able to engage with others a lot more. Before she was missing activities because she couldn’t remember them. The other day she invited her neighbours around for afternoon tea so she could show them all the things that had been done. The main thing is Mum’s anxiety has reduced. This is reassuring on a day-to-day basis because I know she is eating something which has reduced my anxiety.

I know I’m getting to a point where I need full time care. I know it’s coming, and I feel fine about that, but I’m not there yet. I feel so blessed to have them come twice a day to help me. It’s made my life a lot easier and a lot more comfortable. The staff are all very polite and caring and they’re happy, which makes my day.

Thank you to you all!!! Without your ongoing involvement Mum would not be able to live the way she wants, in her own home in a dignified and supported manner.
