Reconnect is an outreach support service which assists young people aged 12-18 years old who are having difficulties staying at home, or who have recently become homeless because of family conflict. We can provide counselling, group work, mediation and practical support to the whole family.
For youth and family support, the Reconnect program uses early intervention strategies to address conflict, strengthen relationships and help to stabilise living circumstances, so that young people can focus on their education, training, employment and future goals.
MercyCare offers this free service in City of Joondalup, Wanneroo, Stirling, Swan, Armadale, Gosnells, Cockburn, Fremantle, Kwinana, Rockingham and Town of East Fremantle. Our qualified outreach workers can meet at a place and time which suits you and your family. If you live in the other Local Government areas , follow this link to get more localised support.
Intervening early when children and young people express feelings of sadness, stress, anger or anxiousness due to difficult life issues is helpful. Our Family Wellbeing Support Service offers free, practical counselling and support for children, young people and their families.
