MercyCare Thornlie educator celebrates achievement

Joining MercyCare in 2013, Angela began caring for toddlers in the 2-3 year-old room before making the move to the 3 to 5-year-old room in 2017, where she began working towards a position in early childhood teaching.

“Early childhood has always been my passion, the first few years of a child’s like are the most important in developing their sense of identity, values and cognitive development,” Angela says.

“I am a big believer in learning through play, as the children play and explore their world they learn life lessons and concepts.”

Angela was inspired to complete her degree to be able to further her own knowledge and to assist children on their educational journey.

“There is nothing more rewarding than seeing the children engage in the learning environments you have created and see that moment when they grasp a new skill or concept,” Angela says.

“The children brighten each day with their personalities, laughter, smiles and love. This has made working full-time and studying fulltime less challenging and more rewarding.”
