New year, new leaf, new career?

Each month our Community Aged Care team hold an information morning for those applying for a position as a Support Worker with MercyCare.  We hold a session north in Mirrabooka and south in Rockingham.

Each session touches on MercyCare’s vision, mission and values and what a day in the life of a Support Worker in the community involves.

“The day’s a such a great way to give people a taste of what the role of a support worker involves and to see if it is something they would like to pursue,” MercyCare Support Service Lead Debra Crocker said.

“We look for people who will enjoy working alongside older people to maintain their wellbeing, ` enabling them to stay in their own homes and participating in their local community.”

Attendees participate in a series of activities including ice breakers, group work and responding to a case study scenario. Following the session, attendees can continue onto a short interview for the role.

For the community roles, no qualifications are required for a Domestic Assistant Support Worker, however a Certificate III in Aged Care is required to become a Support Worker.

If this sounds like a great fit for you, email recruitment@mercycare.com.au to book a spot at one of our information sessions. We look forward to hearing from you!
