Trainee Educator Ashlee Eardley: I love that I see the world with a new perspective

I took up the opportunity for a paid traineeship to gain my Certificate III with MercyCare to start my career where I would have opportunities to grow and be rewarded by being part of the reason children want to know more about the world around them.

Since my very first day, all the early learning staff members were warm and welcoming to me, always happy, polite and positive. As a trainee I am always asking questions and they are always willing to guide me in the right direction. They have always been there to help when I need it and they are not afraid to ask me for my help if they need it as well.

MercyCare has been great with flexible working hours and I’ve loved being part of such an amazing team. MercyCare is great at communication and always keeping our centre up-to-date with important information.

So far, I’ve learnt about the importance of building good relationships with children and how this can help support the foundation of their development.

Since starting this traineeship, I love that I see the world with a new perspective from a child’s point of view, and that gives me a chance to be creative to set-up stimulating, educational and fun activities that children will love. I love that I’m having a meaningful impact on others’ lives.”
