Pamela, a Noongar-Menang woman from the great southern region of Western Australia, brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the position, having spent over 20 years working in government at a senior management level in Aboriginal affairs, including senior roles within Aboriginal community-controlled organisations.
Pamela’s vision for her role, combined with her strategic, organisational and cultural leadership will help MercyCare take further steps towards allyship with Aboriginal people.
“My vision for the Aboriginal Pathway Strategies is to embed reconciliation in everything we do,” Pamela said, “this includes developing staff to be culturally capable, courageous and participate in truth-telling conversations, increasing Aboriginal employment across all levels of the organisation, and hearing the voices of our Aboriginal employees and clients in the design and delivery of MercyCare’s services and programs.”

Before joining MercyCare, Pamela was an integral part of the organisation’s Aboriginal Reference Group and served as the WA State Lead at Life Without Barriers for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Initiatives.
