Mums treated to a special pampering

Mums of children attending MercyCare’s Early Learning Centre in Heathridge got an early Mother’s Day present when they were treated to a pampering session this week.

The children in the three to five age group treated their mums to manicures and hand massages at a special afternoon tea.

The children also decorated cakes, made artwork for their mums and set up a photo booth so they had the precious moments captured in pictures to take home with them.

Mum Sharon said it was lovely to be treated to some extra special care ahead of Mother’s Day.

“I enjoyed sharing a special moment with Kian, where he was able to confidently engage and express himself”

The mums of children in the younger age groups also didn’t miss out, attending the centre for the afternoon tea and doing special activities with their kids like making handprint artwork and painting.

Centre Manager Fiona Cousins said the event was an opportunity for mums to spend some quality time with their children at the centre.

“Mother’s Day is a lovely opportunity to teach the children about showing appreciation for their mums, who do so many wonderful things for them,” she said.

“The pamper day also helps the mums to meet and interact with one another.

“We really try to create a community here, and it was great to see all the mums relaxing and interacting with their children, other mums and staff.”
