Accompanying the portraits were heart-felt, emotive and powerful personal stories of how each person came to Australia and their hopes for the future.
The exhibition was a success, drawing a mix of MercyCare staff, service users and locals in the community who came to admire Jawid’s portraits and read their powerful personal stories.
