Our new, custom-built centre wraps around 700 square metres of landscaped play area, drawing on cutting-edge design principals so each room’s floor to ceiling glass windows and doors overlook the natural centrepiece.
The play space with forts, log ladders, a rope climbing frame, balance beams and a water play area is designed to foster children’s natural curiosity and encourage their imaginative play.
Play and learn
Children challenge themselves and safely explore their limits, crucial in the development of gross-motor skills, learning how to negotiate risk and problem solve.
The nature playground feeds in perfectly to our play-based learning and providing opportunity for open-ended play.
Connection to environment is further encouraged with our budding herb and vegetable garden where each child has opportunity to contribute and learn where food comes from, how to care for things and to watch how things grow and develop.
A familiar face
At Banksia Grove we believe relationships are important. Our experienced educators take the time to get to know what is important to each child and their family, discover each special individual and create a lasting bond each child needs to feel safe and secure.
As a new centre we’ve drawn on the experience of MercyCare’s Early Learning Service network, bringing experienced educators across to Banksia Grove, as well as employing local educators from the surrounding community.
A sense of belonging
Our play-based approach is based on the Early Years Learning Framework. Our passionate educators use play to develop communication, language, social and emotional skills. We focus on children belonging, being and becoming, encouraging their individual strengths and interests along the way.
Our Kindergarten rooms employ the Early Years Learning Framework and Western Australian Kindergarten Curriculum Guidelines. To ensure our kindergarten children are school ready when the time comes, we have met with the local surrounding schools to ensure our educational approach is consistent with theirs.
Parents at our centre love the peace of mind that comes with the app we use to communicate with them throughout the day. Xplor provides real time updates with photos about what your child is enjoying and discovering with their friends and educators.
We offer flexible care arrangements, including half days to penalty-free casual days. The option for a 10-hour session means you can make the most out of your childcare subsidiary across the week.
Our new centre is conveniently located in the Banksia Grove Village shopping area. There is plenty of parking during pick up and drop off times.

Meet our managerKelly
As a dedicated educator and mother of four, I’ve experienced first-hand both sides of the fence when it comes to navigating child care. The experience has made me all-the-more passionate about nurturing a sense of community at Banksia Grove.
I am inspired by the ecological systems theory, which places emphasis on the people and environment around children, helping to shape their development. Beautiful play spaces, like ours at Banksia Grove, bring a sense of calm and wonderful opportunities for exploration for the children.
Over the years I have loved building the special relationships we share with the families and children. I feel it is important to embrace each family’s uniqueness and learn from the wonderful diversity amongst families.
Before taking the manager role at Banksia Grove I was at MercyCare’s Landsdale Centre for 16 years after starting in childhood education in 2003.
I have a Diploma in Children’s Services and am close to completing a Bachelor of Education degree.
