Landsdale Early Learning Centre

Childcare near you

There’s a real connectedness between not only the team of educators at Landsdale Early Learning Centre but also the children and families who attend.

Community feel

Our team of educators, many who’ve been with our centre long-term, are like a big family, sharing their passion, dedication and knowledge to provide a nurturing and caring environment for your children.

Together, we provide a wealth of learning experiences that shape our children’s learning.

Opportunities to thrive

We understand and recognise that children are active learners and learn best through play-based activity.

Our educators generate responsive plans to create potential for both intentional and spontaneous learning opportunities for children to become successful, competent and capable learners with clear understanding and connection to their sense of self, the community and the world around them.

Fresh air

Children of all ages have the opportunity to contribute to our veggie and herb gardens. Not only do we teach children about where their food comes from, but they learn about how to care for things and how things grow and develop.

Our grounds are shaded by trees and shade sails and the children love exploring our nature play area.

Connecting with nature

We teach children about the importance of the natural environment and about our First Peoples.

Caring for the environment is at the forefront of our thinking and children at our centre are exposed to daily practices of recycling and sustainability.

Our children acknowledge the owners of this land, past and present in the spirit of reconciliation.

Ages and stages

Our different age groups have their own spaces to play, rest and learn, with each room named for a native tree that grows in nearby bushland. Babies are in the Holly-Leaf Banksia room, toddlers in the Marri Tree room, pre-kindy in the Prickly Bark room and kindy children are in the Sheoak room.

Babies and toddlers play together in one outdoor area and the older children share another outdoor space.

Meaningful activities

Our children go home with plenty to share after their day at our centre.

The toddlers love telling stories about Marlin and Sushi, the two fish who live in a tank in their room and the older groups are often keen to share the yoga poses they have learnt.

As part of MiniChef Mondays children of all ages work together to follow a different recipe each week, using ingredients from our very own veggie garden to create tasty food.

Children also get a chance to immerse themselves in music and movement, as part of different activities run throughout the centre.

As an optional extra, Happy Feet, which is an interactive dance and movement program, is offered to children.

Engaging with our families

Our centre is like a home away from home for the children who spend time here with us and part of being able to create that feeling is through the connections with the little one’s lives outside of care and their connections with their loved ones. Our kindy children love taking part in show and tell sessions, explaining what they’ve been up to with their families. We incorporate children’s interests and the things that are important to our families into our centre.

Stay Connected

Parents at our centre love the peace of mind that comes with the app we use to communicate with them throughout the day. Xplor provides real time updates with photos about what your child is enjoying and discovering with their friends and educators.

As well as full days, we provide the option of a 10-hour session which means you can make the most of your childcare subsidy across the week. We also offer a special vacation care program.

After working with children for more than two decades I still get a buzz out of seeing the developmental journey little ones go through in their first few years.

It’s a wonderful thing to be able to witness the growth of children as early learners and to be able to develop relationships with children, families and our community.

Being part of a close-knit team of educators makes work even more enjoyable and I love that we’ve also been able to build strong ties with the families that use our service.

I’ve been in the industry since 1998, when I completed my Diploma in Children’s Services and am just as passionate about providing children with a happy, safe environment in order to see them thrive, as I was when I first started out.

"My daughter is enrolled at the MercyCare Landsdale Centre. I can not recommend it highly enough. We first enrolled in 2017 when I was heading back to work after maternity leave. My daughter was only 6 months old and if it hadn’t been for my first meetings with Tammy the centre director, I think I would of struggled to put her in care. Tammy is an asset to the company and I hope they know how truely blessed they are to have such an amazing centre manager. The staff are wonderful. It is a centre that has a big heart and I feel it’s warmth and kindness every time I walk through the door. My daughter loves seeing all her friends, has a great relationship with all her carers, and most importantly the staff are really respectful and accommodating to all my needs as a parent. (No matter how insanely driven by my own emotions they may be). I do believe that is does indeed take a village to raise a child, and in the team at MercyCare Landsdale I believe we are part of a village that I never want to leave."  - Lisa Cumalkovs

A really special mention to Chanelle for her ability to handle Allie in the mornings at drop off. Of course we don’t see everyone throughout the day, so I know everyone does just as amazing a job, but because we actually see Allie willingly go to Chanelle, it’s truly comforting as she will only do that with a very small handful of family members. " - Jess Bryne

"I just want to take the time to thank you, the centre and the wonderful women that work at MercyCare. You have been a wonderful source of support, not only for Ethan but for myself and my family also. As you know, and the girls know as well, it is so hard to leave your children with other people, but there is so much love and respect at your centre, you all care for the children like they are your own, it makes it easier somehow. I’m glad we still get to have contact with you and am grateful and confident to have Addie stay with you guys while I go back to work." - Karina Johnson

"I just want to say a massive thank you to yourself and the girls for always taking such great care of my kids. I can’t believe the journey is over - it’s been years and years. The centre is truly an asset to all families that walk through the door. Your staff staying for as long as they have is a true testimony to how you run a centre." - Elle Moult
