A Whole New Look: Staff Input Leads to Updated Early Learning Uniforms

The new uniforms for educators and staff have arrived and we are overjoyed at how they are being received by the teams and families at the centres.

The development of the new uniform was driven by staff, who wanted shirts that provided a more comfortable and inclusive fit. With a bright and colourful design and super comfortable fabric, the shirts are ticking all the boxes for brilliant work wear, plus, the design created by Brian Blatchford, is completely unique to MercyCare Early Learning Service!

Brian, who is a descendant of the Yamatji People, created a design that features a yarning circle in a nest, representing the centre, and children in it gathering and yarning to learn and grow. The footprints represent the journey we are on together with our children and families.

“We are thrilled at how Brian was able to capture what matters to us at MercyCare Early Learning Service, incorporating designs from the murals he painted at a handful of our centres,” said Lucy Pugh, General Manager.

“We wanted to ensure that the uniform was not only comfortable but also inclusive of our diverse workforce.”

Next time you are at your centre, see if you can spot an educator wearing their new uniform – we think they look fantastic!
