Our commitment to providing a safe environment for children

We are working towards becoming a Safeguarding Children accredited organisation.

The Safeguarding Children program is a voluntary scheme designed for organisations who have a duty of care to children and young people whilst delivering a service or activity to them and/or their families.

Our Disability Services and Youth, Family and Community directorates are now fully accredited after an extensive process which involved the creation of resources, training of staff and reviews into policies and procedures.

This first phase of accreditation took a year and we are now undergoing Safeguarding accreditation in all remaining service areas.

This will see more than 800 staff members across our Early Learning and Aged Care Services taking part in training.

We aim for the whole of our organisation to be accredited by early 2019.

At MercyCare we believe children and young people have a right to be safe, feel safe, be cared for and be respected.
