Wellbeing Wins at Bedford Early Learning Centre

During the school holidays, students at MercyCare Bedford Early Learning Centre were excitedly practicing their gymnastics and dancing skills and finding other creative ways to get their bodies moving! So, to encourage this healthy interest, educator Jenine arranged for the talented team from Yogamigos to come out and run a yoga and wellbeing class with the children.

The Early Learning wellbeing and yoga session began with some breath work – breathing in and out of the body, heart and tummy. Students then learnt a few traditional yoga poses such as star, tree pose, and warrior, and finished with some group work and meditation.

Yoga Migos not only provided a great opportunity for the children to get stretching, it was also a fun and engaging way to teach them about wellbeing, mindfulness and breathing, which the team at Yogamigos believe:

  • Provides skills for students to use in everyday life
  • Promotes self-esteem and positive self-image
  • Improves individual and social awareness
  • Calms and settles the mind
  • Enhances physical strength, fitness, and flexibility

The children had such a wonderful time that educators have incorporated Early Learning wellbeing and yoga exercises into the remainder of the school holidays.
