A Colorful Celebration: Let’s Holi Together!

This week our Early Learning Centres celebrated the Indian Festival Holi as part of our education pillar to embrace diversity and inclusion. Our commitment to educating children about different cultures early helps promote cultural awareness and appreciation.

At our 13 locations, children enjoyed the vibrant and joyous Holi festival, marking the arrival of spring. This festival brings together people from all ages, backgrounds, and genders, bringing colour, love, and unity to the world.

MercyCare Bennett Springs

The children and educators of MercyCare Bennett Springs created Rangoli designs in our outdoor area and then celebrated by throwing coloured powder. The children enjoyed learning about this unique culture, which supports our families and community.

MercyCare Landsdale

At MercyCare Landsdale, we celebrated Holi by having a colourful fun run with our Pre-Kindy and Kindy Children. It was a colour explosion in our outside play space, and the children were thrilled to participate.

MercyCare Heathridge

Our MercyCare Heathridge Kindy room celebrated colourfully thanks to Educator Hema, who brought traditional Holi colours for the children to join the festivities. The squeals of delight spoke a hundred words as the children shared in the celebrations sending love and joy to each other.

MercyCare Thornlie

Children and educators at MercyCare Thornlie celebrated Holi with an explosion of colour.  There was plenty of laughter and fun exploring the Holi powder and water with our friends. We listened to traditional Indian music, danced in our wonderful outdoor area and covered each other with colourful powder.

The children from our 3-5 Bunuru room especially loved covering the educators with coloured powder and water, even chasing them around with the water.

MercyCare Bassendean

MercyCare Bassendean celebrated our happiness and love towards each other through this beautiful festival. We put eco-friendly ” gulal ” colours on the plate and let the children explore it independently. Holi is celebrated as a day of spreading happiness and love, which we created on paper.

Our celebration of Holi demonstrates our commitment to promoting cultural awareness and appreciation among children. We love celebrating many vital festivals throughout the year, giving children opportunities to build awareness and connections. Exposing children to various cultures and traditions is important to create an inclusive and harmonious society where diversity is celebrated and embraced.
