Beep, beep! Driver and activity volunteers wanted

Our Harman Park Community Centre (21 Harman Street, Belmont) is a friendly and vibrant community where members can socialise, connect and take part in a whole array of interests. Trained staff and volunteers run a wide range of fun activities, events and outings for eligible seniors and people living with a disability.

For our driver roles we love those that adore to chat and engage, driving seniors in our Toyota Camry to medical appointments within the Perth area. We also have a shoppers’ bus to drive clients on shopping outings to the nearby Belmont Forum.

For our activities roles there is great variety, depending on what groups we have attending on the day and the outings on our busy calendar. On outings volunteers guide clients to different venues, help clients on and off the bus, take client temperatures, assisting with morning teas, and chat one-on-one with our members.

At the social centre tasks include assisting with morning tea and lunch, helping those who need a little assistance with making their cuppas, supporting craft projects, playing all sorts of table games including dominoes and cards, giving bowling a burl on the Xbox, assisting with cooking activities and gardening (plus much more!).

We are looking for those that can volunteer at least once a week and commit for at least three months.

For outing activities weekday hours run from 9am to 4pm, while activities within the centre are 9am until 3pm.
