Joondalup light and bright renovation provides opportunities to connect

Renovations at the Home recently came to an end with extensive works throughout. Both living and working environments benefited, bringing a warm and homelike aesthetic and providing comfort and support for the MercyCare community in Joondalup to thrive.

“A huge thank you to our residents, their families and staff who have been so patient and understanding throughout the renovation process. With renovations completed, everyone can now enjoy it!” Service Manager Karen Lyon said.

The ground floor reception is now a warm entry to welcome visitors and families, with contemporary and comfortable furniture featuring in communal areas for residents to enjoy.

Already benefiting from a series of window nooks for a quiet place to chat, these have now been refurbished with comfortable furniture and window treatments to encourage use and give a sense of destination.

Corridors have been given a light and bright upgrade throughout, including beautiful and plentiful artworks.

Upstairs a new communal kitchenette is open for families and visitors to use, while on the ground floor a new hutch will be the new home for Willow Coffee Shop.

Select resident rooms received new flooring and paint and several ensuites were refurbished.

For staff, support spaces were reconfigured to create storage, improve staff workflow and provide comfortable spaces to collaborate. A new lift was also installed.

It’s really lovely, it’s so nice and bright.

There was a lot happening, always something new, it kept us on our toes. But it’s so beautiful.
