MercyCare is proud to announce a new partnership with Therapy for Kids, a leading multidisciplinary allied health provider dedicated to supporting children and families across Perth.
This collaboration brings together expertise in early childhood education and allied health to create more inclusive, supportive environments where every child can thrive.
A Collaborative Approach to Early Learning
Through this partnership, Therapy for Kids clinicians, including speech pathologists, occupational therapists, psychologists and other specialists, will work alongside educators in MercyCare Early Learning centres.
Rather than focusing on individual therapy sessions, the program takes a whole-of-environment approach, supporting children within the spaces they know best, their classrooms, play areas and daily routines.
During centre visits, therapists will:
- Observe children and educators within their learning environment
- Share practical strategies with educators
- Provide insights into child development and behaviour
- Recommend simple, effective adjustments to support engagement and inclusion
These strategies may include small but impactful changes, such as adapting routines, modifying the physical environment, or introducing new ways to support communication and participation.
At the heart of the partnership is a focus on building capability and confidence among educators, empowering them with tools and knowledge they can apply every day.
Supporting Families
While the in-centre program does not include individual assessments or one-on-one therapy, families can choose to access Therapy for Kids services separately if needed.
Therapy for Kids offers a wide range of additional supports, including:
- Speech pathology, occupational therapy, physiotherapy and psychology
- Developmental and diagnostic assessments
- Parent consultations and advocacy support
- Group programs and school holiday sessions
