MercyCare appoints Leah Mizen to manage new early learning centre

Leah has almost 20 years’ early learning experience, having completed her Diploma in 2004. She joined MercyCare Thornlie Early Learning in 2009 as an Assistant Coordinator and made her way through each room as a room leader before becoming the centre manager in 2018.

The new role in Piara Waters will allow Leah to use her substantial management skills to support a successful opening for the centre, while building a sense of community amongst the new staff and families.

“I am excited to be the first centre manager at Piara Waters as it brings two things I am passionate about – MercyCare and the local area of Piara Waters. The very place I am lucky to raise my school aged children.” Said Leah.

“Piara Waters has such a diverse culture and it makes me proud to think I get to continue my journey of supporting families in this wonderful new facility, available to the families of our local and surrounding areas.”

Leah will start her new position in late 2023, with the centre scheduled to open in January 2024.

The new purpose built centre is on the corner of Tuberose and Wright Roads in Piara Waters.

The contemporary facility includes generously sized, open rooms with large windows and doors that open up to the outdoor spaces. The outdoor areas will include bespoke nature play areas that will offer many opportunities for exploration and creative play.
