Seville Grove Early Learning Centre

Seville Grove Early Learning Centre on Poad Street is a family oriented, community minded, local child care centre providing programs for 60 children between six weeks and six years. Children can attend half-days or full-days offering flexibility for parents. A calendar of events builds local connections including a visit from the local library for NAIDOC Week and the annual Christmas party and raffle.

Play areas

The early learning centre has a large wrap-around outside area with a shaded play structure, veggie garden and an array of repurposed garden and play items, like the wind chimes made by MercyCare’s handy man.

Demonstrating the strong community bonds, local businesses have donated items to the centre, helping build a rich environment for play, exploration and development. Children learn about the environment and sustainability, using the rainwater tank for their vegetables and herbs.  Inside there are three large rooms for 10 babies (0-2), 20 toddlers (2-3) and 30 Kindy children (3-6).

Each room has a range of spaces for age appropriate activities, a homely environment for babies and toddlers and a natural reading area, role play and art areas for Kindy children .

Programs

MercyCare Early Learning Centres offer a program of education guided by the Early Years Learning Framework. Children experience play-based learning to develop their communication, language, social and emotional skills. The framework at MercyCare's Early Learning Centres focuses on children belonging, being and becoming.

Seville Grove centre runs a Kindy program with a qualified teacher where children learn school readiness skills to ease the transition from early learning.

The popular Happy Feet Fitness program is an option many families choose. Happy Feet Fitness entertains, inspires and encourages children to make positive healthy choices for themselves, the world around them, and in their relationships with others.

Staff

There’s a strong connection between the staff at the centre, offering a nurturing and stable environment for children, including some of the educator’s own children. Seville Grove’s educators have worked together in the local childcare sector for many years, some for over two decades, and provide excellent mentoring for younger staff.

What parents say

Mummy dragged me across City of Armadale looking for day care for me. When I stepped my feet in MercyCare I took off and started playing like I had been here many times before. I feel very comfortable here. I’m learning lots of new words and how to share. Thank you for your dedication, friendly attitude and commitment to my development.” (Junior)

There are simply no words that begin to express how thankful we are. We cannot thank you enough for raising our son for the past few years! Thank you for being such kind and caring people.” (Anon.)
