Happy Mother’s Day!

This week our Early Learning Centres celebrated Mother’s Day through creating special presents for our mothers and learning about families.

MercyCare Ballajura

The children and educators at MercyCare Ballajura ELC provided a thoughtful grab ‘n’ go morning tea package for mothers at the centre. This ensured that all mums, even those on the go, were able to feel appreciated and celebrated this Mother’s Day.

MercyCare Kelmscott

At MercyCare Kelmscott, children have been hard at work all week to create gorgeous little keepsakes for their mums. Each keepsake was made personally by the children and is unique to them, celebrating their mum in a special way. Look how cute their creations are!

MercyCare Wembley

Children and educators at Wembley ELC have been very busy participating in Mother’s Day Activities throughout the week. A range of activities were provided across all age groups, ensuring every child got the opportunity to celebrate their mum and provide them with a little gift.

At MercyCare, we support children in their development of a sense of identity and celebrating important days such as this allows children to learn about themselves and their families. This assists with constructing their own identity and sense of place within the context of families and communities.  The children love sharing stories of their mums and hearing about their friends’ mums, developing social skills which are essential in the sense of community at our Early learning centres.
